Rapscallion

# Article

What a wonderfully expressive word. It makes me think of all the young people who get into trouble through sheer youthful exuberance.

Picture The Little Rascals or the kids in The Sand Lot.

I think my favorite example though would be the lost boys from Hook. Swinging around with cool names like Rufio and spouting awesome catchphrases like Bangarang.

It just conjures up images of innocent childhood mischief. Maybe I enjoy the word because it could apply so easily to my three boys who are 7, 6, and 3 at the moment.

More probably I’m just nostalgic for the days when I didn’t have so much responsibility and I could be a rapscallion myself. Maybe that’s why the short url I bought to use for links is ras.cl

Also, I love how it makes me think of hitting someone on the head with a tiny vegetable in the onion family. Ha!
